A JOURNAL DEVOTED TO THE HISTORY, STUDY AND OCCURRENCES OF

GHOSTS IN YORK

RESOURCES

FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES & RECOMMENDED SITES

• GHOST HUNTS •

For the adventurer with an urge to leave the warm sanctuary of the armchair and venture into the field

HAUNTED HAPPENINGS
Astonishingly, York seems to be devoid of its own ghost hunting group (although if  they exist and we are merely uninformed, please make haste to correct this deficiency in our knowledge) but Haunted Happenings organise events in nationwide venues, and would be worth contacting with regard to potential future vigils

• VICTORIANA •

All manner of Victorian themed wonders.

KIRKGATE
Within the York Castle Museum is a splendid recreation of a York Victorian street, complete with shops, a police cell, a schoolroom and a Hansom cab.

THE THRILLING ADVENTURES OF LOVELACE & BABBAGE
A highly amusing comic strip accompanied by a wealth of Lovelace and Babbage information – all courtesy of the extraordinarily talented Sidney Padua.

VINTAGE VECTORS
For those of a creative persuasion this is an excellent source of wondrous images and objects. All are royalty free, some are free of charge and for those images that require reimbursement you will only have to part with the extraordinarily low sum of two dollars. (For those unfamiliar with the eccentric nature of the currency employed within the colonies that translates to approximately one pound and fifty pence. This, of course, will vary dependent upon the fluctuating fortunes of the empire.

• RECOMMENDED EMPORIUMS •

Purveyors of fine quality goods for the discerning customer.

FESTIVAL OF FUN
Want to dress up for Halloween? Or any time of year? Of course you do!
Festival of Fun have a huge selection of costumes so either go and have a look at the three floors they have in the shop or visit them online.
